Our Words Create Our World We Live In

February 13, 2024

“Your marriage will never be better than your mouth,” says Pastor Jimmy Evans of Fellowship Church of Grapevine, Texas. Our words are important. This not only applies to married couples but to single people, young and old, with all relationships.

“From the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach is satisfied; he is satisfied by the yield of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord” Proverbs 18:20-22 (in the Bible).

“I killed her with my mouth. The good news is that the same mouth that killed her brought her back to life. When I changed, the Lord changed in me my mouth. The night I apologized to Karen, three years into our marriage and the night we almost split up, the first words out of her mouth were, ‘Your mouth, Jimmy, has devastated me! ‘ and it had.”

Listen to Pastor Evan’s message on Training Your Tongue, where he shares his story of a new marriage with his first and only wife and how we can change and improve our relationships when when change our hearts and words.
