you and your I take a wholistic approach to therapy; looking at body, soul, and spirit and tweaking what is out of balance. You let me know your goals and I will help you meet them. I am a Christian and come from a Biblical perspective on life and death.

As a previous K-8th school counselor and having raised four teenagers, I am well equipped to help parents of teens or work with your older child or teen. I have been counseling in the private practice setting since 2010 and began my own practice in 2014.

While I was a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri,  I made home visits to families who were in the foster care system and/or adoptive process.  I worked with moms and dads as they stayed clean of drug use and held employment as to gain back custody of their children. Some of my most precious memories are being in the courtroom when a mother had her parental rights reinstated, after a lot of hard work and tears on her part and prayers and support by us in her circle. I also was blessed to work with twin boys and their grandmother, who had custody of them. She passed away and I then got to be a part of the twins' journey as they were taken in and adopted by a wonderful family. I was in the courtroom when the judge granted the new family adoption papers!

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Biblical Counseling. I am also a certified crisis and trauma responder. My  specialty is relationship issues and grief, transition, and loss; especially a traumatic loss or death.  I work with clients suffering with anxiety, depression, anger, relational strain, and avoidance behaviors, such as emotional eating, drinking, shopping or pornography.

Are you engaged or dating with the goal of marriage? I am a SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator.  As your facilitator I will get you and your partner  set up to take the assessment and go over the report in detail. The SYMBIS Assessment gives you a personalized road map to making your marriage everything it was meant to be!

I am licensed in FL, MO, and TX. I offer  tele-health sessions only.

As the daughter and mother of military veterans, I am honored and love to work with veterans and active-duty members of all the branches.

About Kelly

Meet Your Counselor

Kelly Roberts, M.Ed, LMHC, LPC

Master's in Education

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL)
Licensed Professional Counselor (MO, TX)

I was born in a suburb of Chicago, IL, lived in Tulsa, OK, and was raised in Arlington, TX. I was a sensitive, yet social child, seeking out people and solitude. When I was 15, my best friend was killed in a car accident and this loss led me to become active in the church and in my Christian faith. In college I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. I then worked in childcare, pet sitting, and with Southwest Airlines. Next, I  attended the University of North Texas where I obtained my Master’s Degree in Education.

At this point I had a one-year-old and I took the next twelve years to raise her and her two younger brothers. (It was also at this time that I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off!) I homeschooled my children for a few years, was a pastor’s wife, helped my husband with his faith-based business and enjoyed being a stay at home mom.

From 2011-2014 I was a school counselor for a K-8th grade Christian school. In 2014, I opened my own private practice in Union, MO. The years of 2011-2014 were rewarding and challenging as I became a school counselor, widow, single mother, new wife and stepmom, moved to a new town, and started my own business.

I lived in Union, MO from 2012-2020 and moved to Nocatee/Ponte Vedra, FL in May 2020 when my youngest son graduated from high school and entered the army. Before moving to Florida, I took extra master level courses and passed the NCMHCE Exam and received my LMHC license. I hit the Sunshine State running!

I have a cat and I enjoy the outdoors, walking, gardening, eating out, and being with family and friends.

In 2023, I was voted Best of the Best Counselor in Ponte Vedra, FL. Soon after there was news of our first grandchild's expectant arrival in Texas and the FL house went on the market!

I am blessed being back in Texas, in the Arlington community.

Currently, I am a member of  the Association of Biblical Counselors, and a verified counselor for Focus on the Family and New Life Ministries.

WANT TO FEEL RIGHT AND DO RIGHT? THEN THINK RIGHT.

We have over 60,000 thoughts a day; 75% of them are defeating and tear us down. If we want to feel right and do right we need to start with our thoughts and make sure they are right. Our thoughts feed our heart, where are feelings are, and this leads to what we do and where we go.

I counsel Pre-Teens and older, families, and engaged couples

I counsel  individuals,  families, and engaged couples. Research indicates that individual counseling can help troubled marriages; especially if you, your partner, or both of you, are dealing with issues or mental conditions that affect your relationship. These conditions include anxiety, depression, gambling, pornography or substance use, among others.

Luke 18:27

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Fees & pricing:

By doing only private pay I am able to focus entirely on your needs and goals. YOU direct the sessions, rather than the insurance companies. Counseling sessions may be covered by your health insurance or employee benefit provider. I am an "Out of Network" therapist and will not bill your insurance company. If your insurance does not provide mental health services, you should be able to use your HSA or flexible spending account for payment. My self pay rate for an hour session is $100  or an hour and a half session is $150.

client reviews

"This sounds so silly but, after my first session with her l knew I was where I needed to be. Kelly helped me work through my anxieties and give them to God. She gave me books to read, at my request, that changed my mindset. Kelly is not someone that wants you to be in therapy for the

rest of your life, she's someone that wants you to strengthen your relationship with God and grow into the person He's called you to be. As I said at the beginning of this letter, I still struggle with anxiety and probably always will. But on those nights I don't sleep, I remember the tools my counselor has taught me. Finding Kelly helped renew my faith, she helped me find rest and peace. I love everything Kelly is, stands for, and does. I am so thankful for her!"

"Kelly really helped me get through some horrible things in my past! She was kind and helped me to work through problems. She gave me tools that changed my feelings about myself and others. She helped me to like myself, forgive myself and adjust to my limitations. She taught me that l am not always the problem in a relationship. She also helped me to quit reacting to problems in a problematic way but to show kindness for others and how they feel. I would certainly recommend her for deep seated problems as well as relationship problems. She is a very smart and kind person."

"I continued talk therapy with Kelly and unlocked much of my trauma. She gave me tools and encouraged me to talk through my feelings as they arose. Shortly after I decided that I would leave my family planning up to God. If I was meant to be pregnant again, then I would be. I quickly fell

pregnant once I released it all to God and I am now pregnant and have not experienced any anxiety thus far. l feel like | experience a miracle each day that l can walk into the unknown with so much trauma in my past, fully trusting God, and without experiencing anxiety. No matter what

happens, I feel like knowing that I am capable ofovercoming my biggest fear is a gift. I credit God's grace, the prayers that are being prayed over me, and the tools I've been given through counseling with Kelly for my victory over anxiety. I know there may be times that I stumble, but l have everything I need to overcome."

More about Kelly

I have spent time in family counseling as a teenager with my mother, as a young adult overcoming emotional eating, premarital counseling, marital counseling, and for anxiety as a young adult. I have been involved with GriefShare, a grief recovery support group, as I grieved the death of a close family member. I currently am in aDivorce Care support group, as I go through a divorce. I know what it’s like to be both the receiver and the giver of counsel! I want to give to my clients what my counselors have given me: to feel heard, to have hope, to provide empathy and understanding and words of Wisdom. These qualities are what I, as a Christian counselor, can give to help my clients work through their difficulties and struggles.
