I take a wholistic approach to therapy; looking at body, soul, and spirit and tweaking what is out of balance. You let me know your goals and I will help you meet them. I am a Christian and come from a Biblical perspective on life.
I offer a self pay rate with a sliding rate for family income relief. If you cannot afford my services I can help you locate a provider that is affordable to you. Please ask if you would like this assistance.
Kelly Roberts, Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Licensed Professional Counselor
M.Ed, LMHC, LPC
I was born in a suburb of Chicago, IL, lived in Tulsa, OK, and was raised in Arlington, TX. I was a sensitive, yet social child, seeking out people and solitude. When I was 15, my best friend was killed in a car accident and this loss led me to become active in the church and in my Christian faith. In college I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. I then worked in childcare, pet sitting, and with Southwest Airlines in the reservation department. I then returned to the University of North Texas where I obtained my Master’s Degree in Counselor Education.
At this point I had a one-year-old and I took the next twelve years to raise her and her two younger brothers. During this time, I homeschooled for a few years, was a pastor’s wife, helped my husband with his faith-based business and enjoyed being a stay at home mom.
In 2014, I left these and opened my own private practice in Union, MO. The years of 2010-2014 were rewarding and challenging as I became a widow, single mother, new wife and stepmom, moved to a new town, and started my own business.
I lived in Union, MO from 2012-2020 and moved to Nocatee/Ponte Vedra, FL in May 2020 when my youngest son graduated from high school and entered the army.
My husband Don and I have four cats and we enjoy the outdoors, cooking, traveling, eating out, and watching movies. Personally, I enjoy walking, visiting with friends, and reading. I recently led a women's Bible study and volunteered at the local assisted living. In 2023, I was voted Best of the Best Counselor in Ponte Vedra, FL. Currently, I am a member of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce and a verified counselor for Focus on the Family. I look forward to getting settled in my new home in Waxahachie, Texas, where I recently moved to be close to my new grandson and family.
We have over 60,000 thoughts a day; 75% of them are defeating and tear us down. If we want to feel right and do right we need to start with our thoughts and make sure they are right.

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Regarding marriage counseling, I offer individual counseling, not couples counseling. Research indicates that individual counseling can help the marriage; especially if you, your partner, or both of you, are dealing with issues or mental conditions that affect your relationship. These mental conditions include anxiety, depression, or substance use, among others.
I am private pay only; no insurance is accepted. By doing only private pay I am able to focus entirely on your needs and goals. You direct the sessions, rather than the insurance companies. My self pay rate for an hour session is $120 (sliding scale available) or an hour and a half session for $165. I do offer a sliding scale for my hour session for family income relief, if your combined family income is less than $115,000.
Under $65,000 $90/session
$65,000- $114,999 $105/session
$115,000 and above $120/session

"This sounds so silly but, after my first session with her l knew I was where I needed to be. Kelly helped me work through my anxieties and give them to God. She gave me books to read, at my request, that changed my mindset. Kelly is not someone that wants you to be in therapy for the
rest of your life, she's someone that wants you to strengthen your relationship with God and grow into the person He's called you to be. As I said at the beginning of this letter, I still struggle with anxiety and probably always will. But on those nights I don't sleep, I remember the tools my counselor has taught me. Finding Kelly helped renew my faith, she helped me find rest and peace. I love everything Kelly is, stands for, and does. I am so thankful for her!"
"Kelly really helped me get through some horrible things in my past! She was kind and helped me to work through problems. She gave me tools that changed my feelings about myself and others. She helped me to like myself, forgive myself and adjust to my limitations. She taught me that l am not always the problem in a relationship. She also helped me to quit reacting to problems in a problematic way but to show kindness for others and how they feel. I would certainly recommend her for deep seated problems as well as relationship problems. She is a very smart and kind person."
"I continued talk therapy with Kelly and unlocked much of my trauma. She gave me tools and encouraged me to talk through my feelings as they arose. Shortly after I decided that I would leave my family planning up to God. If I was meant to be pregnant again, then I would be. I quickly fell
pregnant once I released it all to God and I am now pregnant and have not experienced any anxiety thus far. l feel like | experience a miracle each day that l can walk into the unknown with so much trauma in my past, fully trusting God, and without experiencing anxiety. No matter what
happens, I feel like knowing that I am capable ofovercoming my biggest fear is a gift. I credit God's grace, the prayers that are being prayed over me, and the tools I've been given through counseling with Kelly for my victory over anxiety. I know there may be times that I stumble, but l have everything I need to overcome."
I have spent time in family counseling as a teenager with my mother, as a young adult overcoming emotional eating, premarital counseling, marital counseling, and for anxiety as a young adult. Recently I have been involved with GriefShare, a grief recovery support group, as I grieved the death of a close family member. I know what it’s like to be both the receiver and the giver of counsel! I want to give to my clients what my counselors have given me: to feel heard, to have hope, to provide empathy and understanding and words of Wisdom. These qualities are what I, as a Christian counselor, can give to help my clients work through their difficulties and struggles.
My office is in my private residence; address will be provided when appointment is booked.
