At this point I had a one-year-old and I took the next twelve years to raise her and her two younger brothers. (It was also at this time that I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off!) I homeschooled my children for a few years, was a pastor’s wife, helped my husband with his faith-based business and enjoyed being a stay at home mom.
From 2011-2014 I was a school counselor for a K-8th grade Christian school. In 2014, I opened my own private practice in Union, MO. The years of 2011-2014 were rewarding and challenging as I became a school counselor, widow, single mother, new wife and stepmom, moved to a new town, and started my own business.
I lived in Union, MO from 2012-2020 and moved to Nocatee/Ponte Vedra, FL in May 2020 when my youngest son graduated from high school and entered the army.
When there was news of my first grandchild being born, we put the FL home on the market and moved back to Texas, to Waxahachie.
My latest opportunity to "count it all joy," is healing from betrayal. As a result of my marriage ending, I moved to Arlington, to be near my family. I am moving forward. Life is hard! God is good!! With God's help, "One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:13-14).
I have a cat and I enjoy the outdoors, walking, gardening, and being with family and friends. I joined Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, where I attended Divorce Care support group and I look forward to getting involved with my new church family.
Currently, I am a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors, and a verified counselor for Focus on the Family and New Life Ministries. I am a new volunteer with Sharefest Texas; helping domestic violence victims and their children to relocate to new, protected dwellings.
