At this point I had a one-year-old and I took the next twelve years to raise her and her two younger brothers. (It was also at this time that I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off!) I homeschooled my children for a few years, was a pastor’s wife, helped my husband with his faith-based business and enjoyed being a stay at home mom.
From 2011-2014 I was a school counselor for a K-8th grade Christian school. In 2014, I opened my own private practice in Union, MO. The years of 2011-2014 were rewarding and challenging as I became a school counselor, widow, single mother, new wife and stepmom, moved to a new town, and started my own business.
I lived in Union, MO from 2012-2020 and moved to Nocatee/Ponte Vedra, FL in May 2020 when my youngest son graduated from high school and entered the army. Before moving to Florida, I took extra master level courses and passed the NCMHCE Exam and received my LMHC license. I hit the Sunshine State running!
When there was news of my first grandchild being born, we put the FL home on the market and moved back to Texas, to Waxahachie.
I am currently healing from a divorce due to the storm of infidelity. As a result, I have moved in with my family in Arlington. I am moving forward; I am a new creation in Christ; being renewed day by day.
I have a cat and I enjoy the outdoors, walking, gardening, and being with family and friends. I joined Fellowship Church in Grapevine Texas and look forward to getting involved with my new church family.
Currently, I am a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors, and a verified counselor for Focus on the Family and New Life Ministries. I am a new volunteer with Sharefest Texas; helping domestic violence victims and their children to relocate to new, protected dwellings.
